by Oceanwide Expeditions News 03.10.2024

Oceanwide Expeditions was presented with three Expedition Cruise Awards

Oceanwide Expeditions, a 30-year veteran of the expedition cruise industry and pioneer of polar tourism, has been recognized in three categories at the inaugural Expedition Cruise Network (ECN) Expedition Cruise Awards.

2.10.24 - Vlissingen, the Netherlands - On 1 October, at an awards ceremony in London, hosted by ECN and sponsored by Travelzoo, Oceanwide Expeditions was presented with three Expedition Cruise Awards: Best Expedition Cruise Operator for the Polar Destinations, Best Expedition Cruise Operator for Sustainability, and Best Medium Expedition Cruise Operator.

The Expedition Cruise Awards recognize the best expedition cruise lines and expedition cruise sellers in the industry across seven Expedition Cruise categories and five Travel Trade categories. Nominations and voting for the Expedition Cruise Awards were open only to travel trade professionals, making Oceanwide Expeditions win recognition from fellow industry members for their success.

Michel van Gessel, Director, Oceanwide Expeditions - "I am thrilled that we have been recognized for these awards. It is a testament to the exciting product Oceanwide Expeditions offers and our over 30 years of experience in pioneering polar expedition cruises to both the Arctic and Antarctica. I want to thank our staff, both aboard our vessels and onshore, for their hard work, dedication, and passion."

Oceanwide Expeditions' presence at the ECN Conference 2024

Present at the ceremony on behalf of Oceanwide Expeditions were Franklin Braeckman, Antarctic Program Manager, and Toto Vermue, Sales Account Manager. Both also attended the ECN Conference 2024, held between 1-2 October, taking part in panel discussions and connecting with partners, clients, and other industry professionals at an Oceanwide Expeditions booth.

Franklin Braeckman, Antarctic Program Manager, Oceanwide Expeditions - "We are delighted to have won these awards and to be recognized by the industry at large for our brand and unique product offering. Our time at this year's ECN conference has been invaluable, and we thank all attendees and ECN on behalf of Toto, myself, and everyone else at Oceanwide Expeditions."

These award wins come as Oceanwide Expeditions awaits the start of its 24-25 Antarctic season, with the first trip scheduled for 18 October 2024.
