The facts about Forlandsundet
The sound of Forlandsundet is 88 km long (54.7 miles) and divides Prins Karls Forland from Spitsbergen. Its northern limits are Fuglehuken to the west and Kvadehuken to the east, while its southern limits are Salpynten to the west and Daudmannsodden to the east. As in most of Svalbard’s waters, you stand the chance to see certain species of whale, such as humpbacks or minkes, in Forlandsundet.
