Hiking in Greenland
We take every opportunity to explore Greenland on foot. Greenland is a kaleidoscope of colour, the countless greens of mosses and liverworts, the orange and grey of lichens and patches of bright flowers. Although a big part of the landscape consists of steep, inaccessible mountains and large glaciers, there are still miles and miles of accessible tundra. On these lush plains many flowering plant species grow and often Caribou and Musk Oxen can be found grazing here.
‘A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans,
safeguards, policies and coercion are fruitless. We find after
years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us.’
John Steinbeck (1902-1968)
