The east coast of Greenland is busy with glaciers winding their ways to the sea. And where there are glaciers, there are ice bergs. Calving from the glaciers, ice bergs break away from the land to sail their way to the open ocean.

Another big draw of Greenland cruises is the opportunity to lay eyes on Polar bears. Year after year Nansen Fjord proves to be Polar bear friendly, and you should have a decent chance of seeing one in the wild.

Whale watching is also on tap. Multiple whale migratory routes pass by the island of Greenland, and our cruise ships’ courses happily often cross paths with the gentle giants of the seas. And keep in mind, the Arctic region is the only place in the world where you can see the smiling white Belugas in their natural element, as opposed to most other species of whales which make a yearly journey around other parts of the world.
