After having offered two full helicopter days in the Antarctic Weddell Sea, Oceanwide Expeditions completed its excursions on Saturday 1 December.
Expedition leader Delphine Aures says that "All my plans worked perfectly due to fortunate weather. We started with an early morning landing at Whalers Bay, then moved out into Port Foster, parked the ship into the fast ice and lowered the gangway.
By then, the weather had cleared and we could go ahead with the flight seeing in helicopters. People loved it! Both the flight above the caldera and the playground on ice around the ship! Quite a few passengers commented today that this trip is actually probably better than the 'only' emperor trip!".
